We are to return home in a couple of days. Today we will pack, tomorrow we travel towards the airport where we have a room booked at a hotel because of our early flight on Saturday morning towards Chicago.

I can’t believe how fast this month went by. I am sitting in bed watching my kids sleep and can’t help but think how blessed I am to have them. They are so beautiful. We have had such a wonderful time together, I learned so much about them and also about myself. I can’t think of a better way to connect with them.

London is an amazing city. It has so much to offer and regardless of what type of traveler you are, you will not be bored. We sat by the Tower of London last night, eating fish and chips and watching the boats go up and down the Thames and under the Tower Bridge. It’s the perfect spot to take in a massive breath of London and think of everything that we experienced during the trip. It felt like saying good bye to the city with the hope to return.

I usually have a tough time returning home after a long trip. The feeling of being home, while very nice when you first lay your head on your pillow, does not last long as it brings back the reality of everyday routine life. You realize that not much has changed and with the help of Facebook and Skype, you haven’t missed anything in your friend’s lives. They in turn were able to follow along during your travel’s which makes it easier to return to regular days. You don’t have to retell the same stories and they’ve seen your pictures. It’s very helpful. School starts for the children a few days after we return and I already have imprint appointments booked for the very next day. Jumping right back into it!

While I try to come up with a lot of things that I look forward to when going home on Saturday, packing will be slow and my mind will only wander towards our next destination and thinking of our next trip. We want to explore Italy but that, my friend, it’s a lot of imprints down the road! So buckle up, head on home and start working towards the next adventure! I’m sure time will fly just as fast!
